Tilth Breaks Ground on Children’s Garden

In the heart of the Tilth Market, around the cob playhouse, South Whidbey Tilth has created a place for the formation of a children’s garden.

Every Sunday during the market, volunteer educators will create hands-on activities to help children learn about gardens: digging up sod, making a compost pile, deciding what, where, and how to plant.

Children can directly impact how the garden is shaped and come back every Sunday market to explore the growing garden and activities there.

You don’t have to be a child to help plan and work in the children’s garden. Parents, grandparents and children of all ages are welcome.
