2025 Market Opens

Opening Day on May 4 was a beautiful and fun-filled day. At the opening gong, Whidbey’s very own community “honk” band, Mutiny Bay Brass Band, started the musical energy. Then, at 11:45 a.m. all ages gathered ‘round the maypole. This year the strings duet, Ribbons & Bows (Brigitte Tennis and Caroline Penny), accompanied the maypole dance, led by Anza Muenchow. Prop comic, Marcus Raymond entertained kids with balloons, juggling and fire-eating. Music by Green Leader closed our active market.

New vendors this year include 12 Birches Farm, Obvious Ingredients, Macyn’s Microgreens, Ad Astra Bakery, Tropical Baking Sweets, Whidbey Island Waldorf School, Grass Becomes A Wave, and Case Farm, to name a few. Windy Indigo Farm and Fiber will sell eggs and veggies in addition to their pastured lamb CSA shares, wool yarn, and knit wares. And we have many returning regular and guest vendors.

The music schedule is booked, and events are being added, many in our new Children’s Garden. The Master Gardeners return in May and June to answer any plant or gardening related questions. Watch the events page of this website.
