Welcome Sonshine Farm

Tilth has a new community farmer. Pamela Uhlig, owner of Sonshine Farm, has been growing vegetable and floral crops commercially since 2013. She is a grower-member at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market Cooperative. Pam primarily sells foliage and woody perennials grown on about 1.25 acres of her wooded farm near Langley. She applied for a plot at Tilth in order to add more annual flowers to expand her business.

Happy to find a sunnier patch of land nearby, Pam will start farming the quarter-acre plot known to many as “Dorcas’s Plot.” Dorcas Lesedi got her start at Tilth, growing food and selling prepared dishes at the Tilth market. She has moved her garden to Greenbank Farm, and Pam’s flowers are moving in.

At Tilth, Pam plans to plant mainly dahlias and a variety of other annual and perennial flowers, as well as some kale and onions. Wanting to support the local organic flower market, Tilth is excited to welcome Sonshine Farm, plus all those pollinators that the flowers are bound to attract.
