Grafting Workshop

  • Full Cycle Farm Maxwelton Road WA United States (map)

Full Cycle Farm is offering a hands-on workshop to learn how to graft your own apple and pear trees using the simple whip and tongue method. This workshop is taught by Eric Conn who has been grafting fruit trees on their farm and beyond for over 10 years.

We'll begin with an informative lecture on the science behind grafting, application (different types of grafting for different types of trees), and matching root stocks with scion wood. After viewing a few examples of grafted fruit trees at our farm, you'll practice your newly learned techniques before grafting your own apple tree onto scion wood. By the end of the workshop, you'll have a freshly grafted dwarf or semi-dwarf apple tree to take home for planting!

$60 per person. All grafting materials provided. Please bring your own gardening gloves. Optional to bring grafting knife, sharp clippers, special scion wood. Workshop is outdoors, please dress for cold, possibly wet weather.
