Mason Bee Class

Mason bees are among more than 600 native bee species in Washington state. Mason bees hatch from their cocoons earlier than many bees and begin feeding, thus pollinating orchards and native plants early in the late winter and early spring.

Prescott prepared a zoom program using Elizabeth Agin of Mãyã Farm’s slides, which Agin offered from her presentation to Slow Food Whidbey Island March 2023. Prescott included reference materials and description of the orchard work party February 17, 2024. Watch the recording here.
