We can't help it. Our way of life is pretty much set up to create greenhouse gas pollution. In the US, the average person is responsible for 16MT (metric tons) of greenhouse gas emissions every year. In all the rest of the world, the average is around 5MT/person.
Just because our out-sized carbon footprint comes naturally doesn’t take us off the hook for making things better. Like any wicked problem, climate change can be broken down into smaller parts. We don’t have the luxury of collectively holding our heads in our hands and wailing...The problem is so big, there is so much to do, so many choices, so many challenges...
So many ways to do better.
Let’s put our heads together to find PATHS TO IMPROVEMENT that can transform our thinking, our lives, and our Island. What habits can we change? What obstacles do we have to work around? What can we do to reduce our climate impacts without sacrificing what’s important to each of us?
Join WHIDBEY CLIMATE ACTION to explore this rich topic and support each other on our paths to improvement.
