Snacks & Social 5:45 ~ Program 6–8pm (we start on time)
there’s no shortage of reasons to despair about government. On the national level, norms and hard-won advances in pollution and toxics regulation, healthcare, science, education, social justice and so much more have been erased or are under threat. The hits just keep on coming; it seems impossible for the average person to have any impact at all.
But we are not powerless! Our local and state governments are accountable to us, and our representatives are accessible, and even eager to hear from us. Really.
Join Whidbey Climate Action and Helen Price Johnson for effective citizenship 101 (at the city, county, and state level). In group discussions, we’ll have a chance to combine our concerns and passions with strategic advocacy actions.
Carpool Option! If you pass the Bayview Park & Ride (at Bayview Rd and Hwy 525) at 5:35-5:40 on your way to Langley, please check to see if anyone is heading our way in order to carpool. Every car that stays at Bayview will avoid 8 miles of driving!
